Overview

Fireplace (com.https.fireplace) is an ambience app: a looping fire you can watch on your phone or send to a television. This policy explains what data may be processed when the app is used.

Data handled by the app

The app may handle app preferences and feature inputs needed to use the tool. The app may send only the information required to complete a requested network feature. The developer does not sell personal data or use the app for advertising profiles.

Local storage and retention

Local data remains on the device until the user clears it, resets the app, or uninstalls the app. Users can clear local history or entries through app controls when available, or by clearing app storage/uninstalling the app.

Permissions and network access

The current Android manifest declares: android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK, android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.WAKE_LOCK. Network access is limited to requested utility behavior where applicable.

How this app uses the network

The fire and its sounds are bundled inside the app. Nothing is streamed, and the app works with the network switched off. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server operated by the developer that the app talks to.

Casting to a television is the only feature that uses a network, and it stays inside your home: the app serves the video from your own device to your own TV over your own Wi-Fi, on an unguessable local address. The video is never uploaded anywhere.

Google Cast

Finding a television uses Google's Cast SDK, which is Google software embedded in this app. On iOS the app disables the SDK's own usage logging. On Android it cannot: the plugin used here does not pass that setting through, so Google's Cast SDK may report its own usage data to Google while you are casting, under Google's Privacy Policy. This concerns the SDK's own operation, not what you watch, and it does not happen unless you cast. On Apple devices you can use AirPlay instead, which iOS handles entirely and which involves no third-party code.

Sharing, advertising, and analytics

The developer does not sell personal data through this app. The app contains no advertising and no analytics SDK. One third-party SDK is embedded — Google Cast — and it is described in its own section below.

Children

The app contains no advertising, no purchases, no links out to other content, and no way to communicate with anyone. It is suitable for all ages.
